The groundbreaking for Dakota County's Inver Glen Library in Inver Grove Heights took place on November 9, 1998. The event culminated three decades of effort by many people to construct the first public library in Inver Grove Heights. To this day, it is the only library in Minnesota history that was the product of a partnership between a county, city, college, and school district.

Dakota County's Inver Glen Library broke ground in 1998 and opened in 2000.
